  1. George Washington is the highest ranking member ever of the United states military as a 6 star general. 1789-1797
  2. John Adams created the United States Marine Band in 1798. 1797-1801 
  3. Thomas Jefferson had 6487 books/invented the swivel chair. 1801-1809
  4. James Madison was 5’4, weighed 100 pounds, and loved ice cream so much he had an ice cream shop built on his property. 1809-1817
  5. James Monroe unopposed in 2nd election/died on July 4. 1817-1825
  6. John Quincy Adams liked to skinny dip at 5am. 1825-1829
  7. Andrew Jackson had a bullet in his chest for 49 years and his parrot cursed. 1829-1837

  17. Andrew Johnson and his brother were sent away by their mother to be a servant with a clothing tailor. They ran away two years later. 1865-1869
  18. Ulysses S Grant was supposed to be in Lincoln’s box the night he died. He hated blood and worked hard to stop racists. He made Christmas a national holiday. 1869-1877
  19. Rutherford B Hayes lost the popular vote and won by 1 electoral college vote. 1877-1881
  20. James A Garfield could write with both hands at the same time, one in Latin and one in Greek. He was shot and died 2 weeks later because of doctor mistakes. 1881

  22. Grover Cleveland had the nickname Uncle Jumbo because he was 6 feet tall and 270 pounds.  His wife was 21 when they got married.  Their daughter was named Baby Ruth.1885-1889
  23. Benjamin Harrison struggled with anxiety.  He was afraid of newly invented electricity and wouldn’t touch light switches. He was the first president to put up a Christmas tree.1889-1893
  24. Grover Cleveland was the only president to do two terms not in order. His jaw was made of rubber due to an accident and secret surgery on his friend’s yacht.1893-1897
  25. William McKinley had a parrot named “washington post” who could sing opera and greeted visitors at the door.  McKinley loved carnations and wore them as good luck.  The legend is that when he took it off he passed away a week later.  1897-1901
  26. Theodore Roosevelt had difficulty sitting still and was the youngest president in history.  He was shot during a speech and refused to stop the speech until he was finished an hour and a half later.  He was so popular that toy makers would make teddy bears after him. He went blind in one eye after a boxing match.  He lost his mom and wife on the same day.  He was the first president to win the nobel peace prize. 1901-1909. 
  27. William Howard Taft was the only president to also be appointed to the Supreme Court. He never wanted to be president and passed the law for an 8 hour work day that is in effect today. 1909-1913
  28. Woodrow Wilson made banks more protected and made it legal for women to vote. He always pursued peace. 1913-1921
  29. Warren G Harding went on vacation the day after he got elected. He helped women and children with health care and died only 2 years after being president from food poisoning. 1921-1923
  30. Calvin Coolidge was president when the country was doing well. He made it a law that native Americans are citizens. He lost his son when he was 16 and dealt with depression. 1923-1929
  31. Herbert Hoover inherited a country that was struggling. Many Americans had lost all of their money. He helped build national parks. He also helped handicapped children and those who were unemployed. 1929-1933
  32. Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933–1945  He was paralyzed from the waist down, the first president to appear on TV, and led the country through the 2nd world war.
  33. Harry S. Truman 1945-1953  He never earned a college degree.  He was the last president not to have one.
  34. Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953-1961 He is considered one of the most successful military leaders of our country.  He was the first president to ride a helicopter.
  35. John F. Kennedy 1961-1963 He was the first president to be a boy scout.  He was good football player and believed in equal rights for all.
  36. Lyndon B. Johnson 1963-1969 He was 6’3 ½, elected the first african american to be a judge, and was a teacher before he was president.
  37. Richard Nixon 1969-1974 He was the only president from California.  He was very musical.  He played the violin and the piano.
  38. Gerald Ford 1974-1977 He was a great college athlete.  He turned down the NFL to become a lawyer.  He was the only president to become an eagle scout.
  39. Jimmy Carter 1977-1981 He was the first president to be born in a hospital and could speed read over 2000 words a minute.
  40. Ronald Reagan 1981-1989 He loved jelly beans and was a famous actor/good football player before becoming president.
  41. George H. W. Bush 1989-1993 He was a great baseball player, wore crazy socks and skydived when he was 90 years old.
  42. Bill Clinton 1993-2001 He plays the saxophone, has won 2 grammys, and his nickname as a kid was bubba. 
  43. George W. Bush 2001-2009 He was the only president with twins, loves to run & paint, and his father was president before him.
  44. Barack Obama 2009-2017 He was the first african american president, sanctioned same sex marriage in 2015, and was from Hawaii.
  45. Donald Trump 2017-2021 He starred on TV shows, owns 18 golf courses in the US, loves wrestling, and was sent to military school for bad behavior when he was in high school.
  46. Joe Biden 2021-present  His favorite food is pasta and chocolate chip cookies, he drops everything to talk to his children and grandkids, he stuttered as a child, and loves Corvette cars.
