Yesterday we talked about musical dynamics. Dynamics are music symbols used to describe if a song is loud or soft. The words for dynamics are written in Italian.

Here are some dynamic choices:

PIANO: soft

FORTE: loud

MEZZO PIANO: medium soft

MEZZO FORTE: medium loud

PIANISSIMO: very soft

FORTISSIMO: very loud

ACTIVITY

1. Choose 5 of the pictures below and write down their names on a piece of paper.

2. Write down the Italian word above that matches the volume of the picture.

(Example-a frog is mezzo piano)

3. If you’d like to, color a picture of what you chose.
