Time to add B (ti) and A (la) to our staff!
Once you have finished making a staff, you get to make 2 measures of music.
A measure is a section of music. The section is made up of vertical lines. It is used to divide and organize musical notes on the staff.
1. Make one whole note out of play doh. One whole note is worth 4 counts. It will fill a measure of music (common time.)
2. Make a vertical line out of play doh. Put the line after the whole note. You have made your first measure of music.
3. Make 2 half notes out of play doh. A half note looks like a whole note with a stem on the side. A half note is worth 2 counts. Two half notes will fill a measure of music (in common time.)
4. Make a vertical line out of play doh. Put the line after the half notes. You have made your second measure of music.
