
JUDD 4TH GRADE MUSIC IN THE PARKS COMPETITION/DORNEY PARK
PERMISSION SLIP AND CHAPERONE REQUEST INFORMATION
CHORUS TRIP: The Judd 4th Grade Chorus will be participating in the Music in the Parks Competition on Friday June 7th! Students will perform in a chorus festival for a set of college judges at Kutztown University. After the students perform, they will spend the afternoon and early evening at Dorney Park Amusement Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We go rain or shine. Please check the weather before the trip, students may need sunscreen and/or rain ponchos. Any trip updates will be posted at: juddsong.blog
DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL: Students come to school at 8:30am and leave Judd School at 9am. They wear their festival shirts and bring a bag lunch. We return to Judd School at approx 9pm. Parents wait in the bus loop and pick up their students who will be waiting with their chaperone.
DRESS CODE: Students will be given a 2024 Festival Tee-shirt to wear all day. No swimsuits.
STUDENT MEALS: Students need to bring a bag lunch to school that day (no peanut products.) Because of fundraising, students will be given a “single meal deal” dinner voucher to use at the amusement park. They will be able to enjoy an entrée, side, and fountain drink. Meal choices can be viewed ahead of time at the park website (www.dorneypark.com.) Students do not need to bring money unless they want souvenirs. Students may not borrow money from chaperones.

COST OF TRIP: Our trip includes transportation, park admission, free t-shirt, dinner voucher, and competition fees. Judd School and fundraising will be paying a portion of the cost. The trip is 90.00 in total. Here are the payment due dates:
- Friday March 8th @3pm $30.00 1st payment
- Friday March 15th @3pm $30.00 2nd payment
- Friday April 19th @3pm $30.00 3rd payment
Please make checks payable to Judd School. Write the student’s name/classroom on check.
Include payment in an envelope with the student’s name/teacher and give it to Ms. Perryman.

Thank you for your interest! We are in the process of selecting our trip chaperones.
Please read the information below carefully.
To Be Considered:
- ALL chaperones must attend the 7pm chaperone meeting on Wednesday June 5th in the Judd music room. We can only run a trip of this scope with a prior meeting as on Friday morning all is set before the kids arrive. Do not submit a request if you think there is any chance you may have a conflict.
- Chaperones stay for entire trip; from morning arrival until all students are picked up at night. Chaperones may not leave early or arrive late.
- Email completed information below to eperryman@nbtschools.org by Fri. March 1st.
CONSIDER the following information before you request to chaperone:
- Chaperones are responsible for approximately 4 students for the entire trip. No student may be unsupervised.
- You may be combined with other chaperones when we reach the park.
- All chaperones will be given a specific chaperone job; will be announced at the meeting.
- Student groups will be created from classrooms with Judd teacher assistance.
- Students will be granted one student choice from their classroom.
- You may/may not chaperone your own child. Every student must be chaperoned.
- If selected to chaperone, you will be notified by Wednesday April 3rd.

- On occasion, some chaperones have been asked to drive with their child. Please indicate if this is something you’d like to be considered for if you are chosen.
CHAPERONE PAYMENT 90.00
- Payment includes festival, transit, park, food voucher, and festival t-shirt.
- Chaperones, once chosen, make their payment by April 19th
